Nope... not 2... 3! ❤️

At first glance, this looks like a photo of an excited couple sitting on the front steps of their brand-new home. But if you look a little closer, you'll realize there's someone else in this picture too.

Their baby boy.

That's what makes this home purchase even more special.

One of my favorite parts of being a Realtor isn't just helping people buy or sell homes—it's getting to be part of some of the biggest milestones in their lives. Sometimes it's a first home. Sometimes it's a dream home. And sometimes, it's helping a growing family find the perfect place to start their next chapter.

This incredible journey began when Amy and AJ walked into one of my open houses in Joliet last year.

We instantly clicked.

We spent time talking, laughing, and getting to know one another. There was no pressure, no sales pitch—just a genuine conversation. Those moments matter because buying a home is built on trust, and relationships always come before transactions.

Months later, AJ gave me a call.

He told me they were thinking about buying but weren't in any rush.

Then I found out something he hadn't really factored into the timeline...

Amy was expecting!

I laughed and said,

"Actually... you are in a hurry—you just don't know it yet!"

As anyone who has welcomed a new baby into their family knows, time suddenly starts moving a whole lot faster. Before long, nursery plans, doctor's appointments, baby showers, and preparing for a new little life become the priority.

Finding the right home suddenly became much more important.

Over the next couple of months, we searched together for the perfect place.

Like many buyers in today's market, we experienced disappointment when we were outbid on a home they really liked. It's never easy watching clients lose out on a property they had started imagining themselves living in.

But I looked at them and made a promise.

I told them I would find them something even better.

And that's exactly what happened.

I had access to one of my off-market listings—a beautiful ranch home in Plainfield featuring:

• 4 spacious bedrooms

• 3 full bathrooms

• A finished basement

• A 3-car garage

• A fenced backyard

• An incredible deck perfect for entertaining family and friends

The moment they walked through the front door, they knew this was the one.

There was just one major obstacle.

The home had been smoked in for nearly 30 years.

For many buyers, that would have been the end of the conversation.

For me, it was simply a problem that needed a solution.

I immediately got to work.

I reached out to one of my trusted investor partners and borrowed two industrial ozone machines. I coordinated a professional deep cleaning, arranged for every wall to be thoroughly washed, and then ran the ozone machines continuously for two full days to eliminate the lingering smoke odor.

When we returned for the final walk-through...

It was incredible.

The smoke smell was completely gone.

The house felt fresh, clean, and ready for its new family.

Today, Amy and AJ are officially the proud owners of an amazing home that checked every box they were hoping for—and then some.

But what makes this story so meaningful isn't the square footage, the garage, or even the finished basement.

It's what those rooms will soon become.

This fall, one—or maybe even two—of those bedrooms will have a very important new occupant.

Their baby boy will soon be filling this home with laughter, first steps, bedtime stories, birthday parties, holiday traditions, and memories they'll cherish forever.

Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.

Real estate has never been just about buying or selling houses.

It's about helping people find the place where life happens.

It's about finding the home where families grow, where milestones are celebrated, and where countless memories will be made for years to come.
